A part of the training programme Activators are taught how to run a dialogue session. There was live tweet session when the Gauteng group was practicing running a dialogue session. This is what they had to say about whether South African have a culture of drinking.

South Africa does not merely drink. It glorifies drinking. We are a country where bottles are stitched into celebration, heartbreak, masculinity, grief, birthdays, funerals, and weekends that supposedly “don’t count.” Alcohol has become less of a substance and more of a social requirement. Decline a drink often enough and people start looking at you like you are the problem. And the numbers do not exactly paint a hopeful picture.
